Gateway to Arabic Vol (1)

No doubt that that the first step in any language's acquisition is mastering it's sounds and letters, and to

be able to read and write and pronounce it's sounds correctly. So whoever wants to study and learn then

he must perfect the alphabet before anything else.

That's why we have chosen (Gateway to Arabic) to be the first step in learning for beginners, including

basic skills in reading and writing which every beginner needs.

By that book the learner –InshAllah – will be able to read the Arabic letters with Tashkeel (Short Vowels=

Fat-ha ,Dammah, and Kasra) , Madd letters (long vowels=Alif,Waw and ya)  ,practice nunation ,Sukun ,

Shadda , the Moon letters, and the Sun letters.....etc .

So far the student will learn how to write the Arabic letters separately, but since the Arabic word is

written usually in a jointed –up form, then the student will learn how to write the letters attached at the

beginning, middle and the end of the word.

This book also concentrates on the skill of distinction between similar sounding letters in Arabic; actually

it's very important skill as some pairs of Arabic letters have a similar sound that's why an intensive care

should be taken to pronounce each letter correctly.

Incorrect pronunciation would change their meaning for example; the word (Qalb) means heart, whereas

the word (Kalb) means dog!
